Five businesses, five different refusals

Each of these is a pretend business with a real agent on it, given nothing but a page of Context describing what it does, what it charges, and what it must never say. Pick the one closest to a client of yours.

Three of these float and two sit in the page, and which is which is not arbitrary: a shop, a trade and a listing page put a button in the corner because the page is doing another job, while a practice’s contact page is about getting in touch, so the chat is the content. One attribute apart; each page shows both snippets. The green button in the corner of this page is kavilo’s own agent, floating.

The interesting question in each is the last one — the one it cannot answer. A shop agent cannot look up your order; a dental agent will not tell you what your toothache is. Knowing where to stop is the part that is hard, and it is the part you are actually buying.

Your listings, answered

Buyers ask the same questions on every listing: the HOA fee, the school district, what happens between an offer and the keys. An agent on your site is instructed to answer only from the pages you give it, decline when a fact is missing, and hand you the name and number of whoever wants a call back.

What each one took

About two pages of Context — the services, the prices, the hours, and a paragraph on what the agent must refuse — and one line of HTML. No plugin, no framework, nothing hosted. The same script tag runs on a real Shopify storefront with the shop’s Context behind it.
